To Be The Best

I have always wanted to be the best in sports ever since i started playing when i was just 5. I picked up tennis basically from dad and then onwards, he train us and together with his other friends's sons who were around my age. He brought us to watch his tournament matches and at home there will usually rows and rows of tennis trophies on display. I remember telling my dad i wanted a tennis trophy just like he did and he told me to work hard i could be like him some day.

But till now... i am nowhere close to him. Not even my brother as well. He told us that he would retire from tennis if either me or my brother beat him one day. It has yet to happened. Maybe not now, maybe not ever i don't know.

Years and years of competition and the furthest i have ever go to was the third round. I know i need to work really hard to get better. And i guess after the recent pol-ite competition, i made up my mind with a friend of mine in the team that we are gonna work hard for ourselves together with the team and push to the limits in order to be best.

Because from what i heard and what i know, the way my team trains is not tough enough at all. I mean, its not like we have very good players in the team that we can just count on them to win, so i guess this time round, we'll work our way through to the top right after this competition is done. If other schools can train 4-5 times a week and there's really improvement, i don't see why i or even the rest can't. But of course, we'll start slow. And slowly it gets tougher and tougher and more tiring. Like the saying goes in the Olympics,

PAIN IS TEMPORARY, PRIDE IS FOREVER.
